As part of the modernization process of its ticketing system, MetrôRio has 63 ATM machines spread throughout all of its 35 stations.
The vending machines allow all passengers to purchase pre-paid cards, as well as to refill them later. All transactions must be made in cash, with a minimum first charge of R$ 10, and refills in bills of R$ 5 or bigger. Buy as many rides as you want-- keep in mind that the cost of a Single Ride ticket is R$ 3.10.
